Bad Video Card?

So I just bought an AGP 7600GT as a temporary replacement to my old 9800 pro, and the results weren't exactly what I had hoped for.

I installed the card yesterday, booted up the comp, installed the latest Forceware drivers (instead of the ones on the CD), everything was working fine. Tested out a few games, the card was performing extremely well, checked the temperature of the card with the nvidia control panel just to be safe, temps were fine. I had the comp on for an hour and a half, maybe 2 hours and I was downloading a few demos to test out and I heard a "beep" from the computer (the kind you get when something aint right). Just a single beep, and that was all, nothing seemed to be wrong, the comp was still running, temps were fine, so I just kept doing what I was doing. I decided to reboot my comp about 20 minutes after that beep. Thats when the problems started.

Immediately upon reboot, starting from the very first screen that you see when the computer turns on (the bios/cpu info screens), my monitor started flipping out, the picture was flashing in and out, image was breaking up, there were lines all across the screen, I had never seen anything like it before. It continued like this all the way till windows fully booted up. So I reset the comp, and it did the same thing. I showed my dad and he unplugged the DVI connector from the back of the video card while the comp was running in windows then plugged it back in, and the picture went back to normal. So I rebooted again, the screen started freaking out again. But each time I would unplug/plug in the cable while the comp was running, the screen would go back to normal. So then I tried plugging in an analog monitor, and it booted up normally. I turned off the comp again, took out the analog monitor and connected the DVI cable to the second connector on the back (it has 2 DVI ports on the back), it booted up fine. The I rebooted again, and it went back to freaking out.

I know it isnt a monitor problem or a problem with my cable, because I put my 9800 pro back in, and everything is fine. Other than the screen going crazy, that one single beep was the only other abnormality that happened (and it only beeped once, and it didn't do it again).

The only conclusion that I can come up with is that the card has bad DVI connectors or something. If anyone has any idea if this could be caused by anything other than a bad video card, your input would be appreciated.
