Bad Video Card?

Hi people.

Here is a rather vague question regarding a video card inside a machine (desktop). The monitor has been tested on another machine, and works fine.

The system boots up and has a weird band across the screen, so I am thinking the video card is kaputsky... would that sound about right?

Cheers 😀

try the vga in another machine
or it just might need to update chipset or vga drivers, especially if you have recently installed an SP

no, a green band appears with any monitor hooked up to this video card... this has been going on for a long time... regardless of software

does it also happen if the vga is in another machine?
If yes, then it is card.
If not, then we can talk it through

Yeppers, it was the video card that was bad.

Solution was a new video card, and bingo no more striations 🙂
