I'm running a PIV 1.8A on a ASUS P4B533 at stock speeds and i can't play any D3D games with out my colors gettin garbled. The games keep playin but I can't see anything at all just funky colors and my computers dosen't respond to alt-f4 are anything else. If I hit the restart button the screen is still garbled I have to shut down the pc to get back my normal boot screen. I'm thinkin that the vid card is bad. What do you guys think?.

if you are still having garbled video after you reset your computer, it definitely sounds like a video card problem. however, i wouldn't immediately go out and buy a replacement just yet. it is possible that you are having problems because of overheating. can you post any temps of your case or cpu?
also, have these problems ever caused a lockup?
you should also download the latest video card drivers, motherboard drivers, and latest version of directx (if you havent already)

if you have another video card lying around, or one in another computer, you might want to see if you still get problems (or if your current video card causes problems on another computer)

All driver's are current and my case temp is about 72 and my proc gets as high as 94 (MBM 5.2). As for the lockup yes the system locks hard till I powerdown I will hijack the wife's geforce2 and see what gives

I had a similar problem with a geforce 3. Turned out to be a bad video card. Lucky for me, it was still under warranty.

Methinks that my warranty is gone 🙁 but I will check it when I get home I saw on another board that this is a gainward problem and they are doing nothing so far to fix it:disgust: I hope this is not true but I might be able to get a NV30/Ati 9700 pro out of this🙂
