Bad upgrade, need advice.

I downloaded the winxp from microsoft (yes I paid for it) and I burned the iso to a cd and then when I was half way through the install I got a error saying that the cd needs to be cleaned and it couldnt install all the files then it forces me to reboot. I had win2k on it before the upgrade and I had all the files that i need on another HDD except my diablo2 character.

Is there anyway to put win2k back on it? Has anyone else had this problem?

Bad idea, never replace a Release OS with a Beta, but on to what you can do. The only idea I have is to try running Windows 2000 Setup, and "upgrade" your XP/2000 hybrid to 2000 and see what happens. I would not recommend this to be a permenant solution, eventually format clean and re-install.

YEa 🙁.
The only reason i did it was that i get my new hdd's on monday and I had to do a fresh install anyway. I forgot about diablo2. That is the only thing that I really cared to lose.
For future reference for other folks, it didnt work to upgrade it back to win2k. 🙁
So what I am doing is I have an old HDD (5400 5 gig) that I am installing win2k on and I'm gonna try to burn the iso again. If that doesnt work then I will just have to wait. 🙁 And also look for the diablo2 files.
