Sgt. Khalil Muhammed of the Chicago police definitely lied about the circumstances surrounding his shooting of the unarmed, autistic Ricardo Hayes. The released video is damning in the extreme.

Hopefully another CPD officer that will be tried and convicted attempted murder. The only way to put a stop to this is start shoving bad cops into prison.

Is it enough if we get cops to stop shooting people though? I think the criminal justice system is rotten to the core. Here's a story about a prostitute that was harassed by vice cops until she leapt to her death. I think we need to really challenge policing, prosecution, and incarceration in this country.

If you listen to the 911 call, he is asked "what happened" and there is a long pause, then he says something to the effect of, he looked like he was going to pull a gun and walked up to me.

Had there not been a video, we would have likely not seen this story. Sad.

Well, I think at least your post is recognizing that this isn't a problem of weeding out some bad apples. We clearly have systematic problems.
