Bad sectors... Ghost related?

I'm having some weird problems that only seem to appear when I use Norton Ghost (2003 in the bootup mode) to clone hard drives. On my personal hard drive (Maxdor), everything was fine until later when I discovered and fixed 2 bad sectors using Dmitriy Primochenko's Hard Drive Regenerator. I RMA'd it and will send it back tomorrow... but today I tried to do the same thing on my dad's new hard drive (A SATA Western Digital), and it crashed partway through. I ran Hard Drive Regenerator and it found 7 before crashing, a restart has not found any as of right now (only restarted it 10 minutes ago). I'm wondering if Ghost could be doing this, or if maybe I just got two flaky hard drives. Any opinions?
