Bad Sector on Maxtor hdd

It's a 3 months old Maxtor D740X 40 gb drive...
i ran norton's Disk Doctor and found 8kb of bad sectors, i've tried fixing it with win2k's scan disk but it didnt work.
Should i return the drive or 8kb of bad sectors wouldnt make any difference ?
will it spread ?

I always RMA at the first signs of bad sectoring just for the fact that most likely it will eventually spread...
