maybe i misunderstood the website, but when i submitted my 3dmark06 score to the futuremark website i was pretty sure that it said the average score of my setup was roughly 25,000, but mine was only 9600.

i just recently bought a ton of parts from tigerdirect and built them, they are as follows:

600w coolmax psu
intel Q6600 cpu
ega nvidia 8800 gts superclocked 330mb version
case is antec nine hundred (bought from local retailer)
i'm running vista enterprise 64 bit version
2 GB pc6400 ram at 800mhz

anyone know why i would be getting lower than normal scores?

also, it might need to be known that during the 3dmark06 test i was only getting 1 fps on both the cpu tests, since it was the only time ive ever run the test i'm not sure if thats normal, but it seems kinda wrong to me, but yeah, any help will be great. thanks!

Two thoughts . . .

#1, TigerDirect has never been one of my favorite vendors. After much time wasted handling returns, I almost never use them any more unless it is for something they can't mess up . . . like software.

I know what I am getting with software, and how to update and patch it if necessary, so that is fairly safe if the price is right. Hardware, on the other hand, presents itself with a lot more ways to mess it up.

#2, Is this test site specifically stating that their program is capable of handling a 64-bit operating system? Incompatibility could very easily be the reason for your low scores. Try another benchmarking site and see what you get.

You are just about right for your hardware. 25,000 3DMarks is only possible with a highly overclocked extreme system, there are only 8 scores ever submitted over 25,000 points. Have a look at the hall of fame
