Bad router?

D-Link DI-624, latest firmware

Enabling any type of wireless data encryption renders the router unconnectable. Tried everything from WEP -> WPA2-AES.

As soon as any encryption is enabled, i can't get both my T41 nor my Wireless MacMini to connect. Erased all settings, entered manually, still nothing....

Likely just a dying router?

Alot of routers & wireless card combinations have trouble when using encryption and dhcp. Try using a static ip address, dns servers and gateway and see if that works.

Replaced the D-Link w/ a $29 Netgear G router, works like a charm now and better signal to boot.

Thanks for the help 🙂
