So as I said in the title im running 2x 8800 GTX but im getting very bad results from 3dmark 06 and Vantage, only getting 11k on 06 and 13k on Vantage, Im using the 266.58 driver.

The system is E6320 @ 2.6GHz, 2GB DDR2 Ram and ASUS P5N-E SLI motherboard.

I'm guessing I'm just capped so badly by the CPU but just wanted to check if you guys have any ideas about what could be causing this other than the CPU.

How fast is 2x 8800 gtx in SLI? thats what? stock 5770 performance or slightly above it?

Not sure if your cpu bottlenecked or not.

its certainly a bit faster than a 5770 and for 3Dmark 06 and vantage it is a huge limitation.

3DMark06's score is too heavily influenced by the processor, and it's also usually run at a low resolution. I wouldn't put that much stock in the final score. The GPU score is what matters. For better performance you'll want to get a quad core processor to let your SLI setup shine.

Or at least a highly clocked dualcore, like an E8400, that would probably come close to eliminating a gpu bottleneck on 8800 SLI

One 8800gtx is about = to a gts250/4850, mabe 8% slower.

2 8800gtx's are about = to a gtx285 or gtx460 768mb.

Edit: if you need some more performance grab a q8300, set the FSB to 400 (3.0ghz) for only 150$. yes your board supports this cpu with the 1406 bios.
