Bad Partition table

I am low-level formatting using Maxblast. Will update if that works.

Edit, that didn;t fix it.... It boots fine though. Now what ?

If writing all zeroes to the drive didn't fix it, I can't imagine anything will. All zeroes erases EVERYTHING on the drive, including the MBR and the partition table.

are you sure you low level'ed your HD?
in my experience, low leveling my 250 GB took almost 20 hours, you updated your post within 1 hour...

Damn. Zeroing out a 250GB drive shouldn't take 20 hours. A few hours maybe, but not 20. (Assuming 30MBps write speed, 2.315 hours in fact. Even if it was writing then reading it, which just a zero wipe shouldn't, maybe 5 hours.)

PowerMax (part of MaxBlast) does include a "quick" low-level format that just wipes the first and last 100MB or so, takes only a few minutes. That should of course wipe out the partition table and MBR.

When I ever have that much trouble with a drive, it goes in the "bad drives" drawer, just to be on the safe side.
