Came home tonight and we can't find our cat anywhere!!!

Shadow

My GF and roomate are on their way home to look for him.

🙁

<edit> found him roaming outside the house about a 100 feet away, gotta check for ticks now!!

<update> 2 ticks found, burned to death with zippo!

If he didn't have a chance to get out while you were gone.. he's definitely hiding in the house. I've gone ballistic looking for my cats from time to time. They are really hard to find if they want to hide.

We always had outdoor cats when I was growing up, and from empirical evidence I firmly believed a cat's natural lifespan was under 5 years 🙁

Hopefully your cat's just off having fun and will come home soon.

cute cat. he will turn up.
i started looking for my cat one day when i noticed he was no where to be found.
i started freaking out.

i kept finding insulation from the attic on my stove and never put two and two together. there was a series of holes cut in the cabinets over the stove and finally a hole leading into the attic for the steam to go, i guess.

i finally made the connection and waited and looked at that hole in the ceiling and sure enough, kitty pokes his head thru. i coaxed him out by banging a knife on his soft food can, which is how i get him to turn up when i dont know where he is, since i make that noise when i feed him soft food.

i put a piece of cardboard to block the hole into the attic. i guess kitty was having fun exploring up there, but its probably not a good place for him to be. the funny thing is the ceiling in the kitchen has to be 12ft tall. yeah, my cat's a stud.

🙂

yep, I spent all day sunday looking for spooky. he was laying up in the cabinets.

search hi and low in every single nook and cranny, near the ceiling

ive always made a noise to associate w/ feeding time.
i shake his food bag or bang on the can with a knife before feeding.
its amazing how fast lost kitties turn up when they expect food.

is he indoors or outdoors?

im never having outdoor cats again, since i had two get run over, thanks mom.

she refused to have indoor cats, even though her and my dad used to before my sister and i were born.

There should be no such thing as owning an "outdoor cat". 🙁

check the washer/dryer, in the closet.. god they can be anywhere. I found mine in the washer once!

^ what she said. My parents have a cat that once got shut in the closet accidentally. We looked all over, and tried shaking the can of treats - no response. Finally we opened the closet (even though my mom was sure she hadn't been in there that day). The cat walks out with a "took you long enough" look.

Tried all those places, because he's been in there before. Nothing!
