i just got the new intel board w/ the 845g chipset. i installed win98, and it froze everytime i tried to install mobo drivers.

i am trying to install XP Home, and it freezes at the blue screen saying "please wait...", and the floppy light turns and stays on (no, the cable is not backwards)

what the heck?

thanks

just an update..

i changed the RAM and everything looks fine now

it was 256mb of PC2100, i replaced it w/ the same and it worked

anyone know if it is the wrong "density" or just bad ram?

thanks

I would guess wrong density.

Have you tried the stick in a different computer with different (older) chipset.

If so... and it doesn't work then it might be wrong ram.

Always hard to figure those things out 😉
