bad motherboard?

I'm trying to figure out if my diagnosis is right before I run out and purchase a new motherboard.

I'm getting a Page_fault_in_nonpaged area error. I know it's not ram as ram works in the old computer. However I've tried ever memory slot on the computer and none of them are working. I'm getting this error everytime I tried to use recovery console or reinstall xp (moved my comp and was getting a system confic file corrupted or missing error).

I'm anxious and ready to go buy a new motherboard but if that's not it that's a decent amount of money down the drain.

have u tried formatting and doing a clean install?
If you just tried porting over the previous install (even for the system repairs) it may or may not work. I think its a good idea to try that before you buy another mobo.
You also might want to run mem test, since not all memory sticks worth with every board.

Well it won't let me do a reinstall and I can't figure out how to do a reformat without being able to puit command prompt.

which talkign to a buddy of mine in a online game he said it may be the hd which kind of makes sense. right now I'm stuck between motherboard faulty or the ata seagtae hd.

Glad I didn't buy the mobo. Just tried and old IDE drive booted up fine. So I guess somehow my ATA drive just died it's only 8 months old too. Sigh.
