Bad Motherboard

Ok so my neighbor's motherboard, MSI K8N Diamond Plus, went bad and they are sending him a replacement, K9N Diamond Plus. He has to buy some new perifs, but the real problem lies with his Raid 0 array.

Question is can he take those 2 HDs and put them in either another computer with windows already installed and let them see the raid array with drivers? I just need a hand I have been searching and can't seem to pull up the right answers. He wants to get his games/music/moves/pics/(pr0n too I'm sure).

Thanks in advance.

According to the article, a RAID0 array created on an nForce3 system was successfully migrated to an nForce 590 system (repair install of the OS was required). I would be hopeful that the same would stand if the array had created on an nForce4 board, but their testing didn't account for that. Of course there are no guarantees. 🙂

I'm tempted to put a small RAID1 array on my ICH9R, but i've always been concerned about migrating/accessing the array in the event of a motherboard failure... and i'm too cheap to buy a dedicated controller. Of course RAID shouldn't be a complete replacement for a proper backup routine. 🙂
