Hi all, I've become mildly suspicious of my motherboard.
My PC is a dell prebuilt studio xps 8100 , came with a no name 300w PSU, hd 5770, and i7 870 (and an amazingly slow HDD, getting a new one though). About a year ago something happened to either the psu or 5770. I never diagnosed it as that is what sparked my interest in computers, didn't care then.
Anyways, one or the other died, and I replaced both. Now I have an hd 7770 and rosewill HIVE 550w. Recently though, my card has been suffering. It used to bench at core 1300, game at 1220, no vcore increase. Now it benches and games at 1075, no vcore change. It never goes over 65c, and it hasn't had a vcore change, so it shouldn't degrade. Right?
It's been acting iffy for a month or so now, randomly freezing and crap, and I was going to return it for either a new one or money to put towards a new r9 270x. But then I thought, what if the psu failed, damaging the mobo, damaging my gpu?
It's displaying the exact same degradation as my old 5770, the occasional crash, then artifacts, then just crap. Also, the 5770 was oem and lasted 2 years while the 7770 is his iCooler and is "lasting" <1 year, bought it in January.
What do you guys think, bad luck, or bad mobo?
EDIT; Come to think of it, this might be video cards and graphics material. Move if needed.
