Bad Monitor or Video Card?

I have a new build with a ATi Radeon X700 128mb video card and a new Dell 1905FP monitor. Everything seems to be ok when using the analog output but when I plug in the digital video to the monitor it goes blank after a variable amount of time (1-20 min).

I have reinstalled windows (MCE) and the drivers from the video card but the problem still occurs.

I have no other digital cards or monitors to try to find the possible culprit.

How do I determine if the problem is with the monitor or the card?

By the way, I am running at native resolution, 1280x1024.

You need to test the monitor on another computer - that's the only way to really know where the problem lies.
