I have MSI K7T Pro2-A mobo, Visiontek GF3, T-Bird 1Ghz, 512 mb pc133 ram, winXP PRO,and am having crashes. It locked up playing RA2 with black screen and would not reboot w/ reset. After disconnecting power for two minutes, restarted, made it to windows start screen and locked again. Wouldn't reset, had to use cold boot after power disconnect from now on. Removed all peripherals with only mouse, keyboard, and monitor plugged up. Now it will lock up when in the bios setup screen and swicth to black screen. I have tried resetting CMOS on mobo and default safe settings to no avail. There are times when it will make it to windows safe mode select but again switches to black screen. Please help if possible. I think it is mobo or T-bird, but wonder if it's video card.Want to be sure before buying new.

What did you remove?

Make sure heatsink fan is clean of dust.

What is hooked up now?

try booting into safe mode.

Gault,

Doesn't that MB have the DLED diagnostic LEDs?
What do they indicate?
My experience with that MB hasn't been very good (RMA'ed 2 of them).
