I've not looked at this stuff in years (long years) so I'm really not up to date on which soundcards support which DirectX. I play Battlefield 3 sparsely and listen to a small (700 song) iTunes (256 AAC) music collection, sometimes iTunes radio. This is all through my, now broken, line out on my mobo audio port, to my Audio-Technica ATH-M50 which are still in good shape.
Since I'm not planning on upgrading the mobo anytime soon, I'm wondering is there a good quality soundcard that will support whatever DirectX sound? I really don't want to spend more than $150, but can go over if there is something worth it.
Any suggestions here?
