bad memory? what to do?

I have here two(2) sticks of 128mb pc100 memory

the markings on one are:
Incync
ICM8M8c3-8
9852 USA

the other

LD
pc100WAB
9917LD
the rest is too hard to read

Anyways to the point. Both the of the sticks have gone bad. They are a friends and he doesn't remember where he got them from. IS THERE ANY PLACE THAT WILL TAKE THEM FOR MONEY OR WHERE I COULD GET A TRADE IN. I don't know if they had warranties on them or not.

Thanks for your help

Trash 'em. If the memory is bad, who in their right minds would trade you for it? Virtually all places I've seen that buys used memory (even at shows), tests them prior to closing the deal.

How do you know they're bad ? Go to show and have them test it... most likely it may be something else if you're lucky...

lol..got some ginko right here..i'll try it this afternoon. I know they are bad because when i swap one into my system it crashes like heck with pagefault's and bsod's. I just hate the idea of tossing two 128mb sticks 🙁

You mentioned that you get "bsod", is this means that with this ?faulty memory? you can boot the computer, and the memory passes the bios checking. If so it is possible that this memory can be used in a slower computer, with low mem setting, no o/c etc.
