What are your system specs? Have you tried a memory diagnostic program? If not, you might try
Memtest86 overnight and see if it reveals issues. Sometimes a little bump in memory voltage and/or a slight relaxation of memory timings is advisable.
In the bigger picture, though, the fact that this happens so predictably with just one program makes you wonder if it just needs Internet Exploder reinstalled. You can go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and there should be a Add/Remove Windows Features where you can try that. Good luck, and don't forget to patch up IE at Windows Update if you reinstall it.
