Bad LCD or something else? (pic included)

This HP Mini 210 was dropped by a friend's 9 year old daughter. She asked me to have a look to assess the damage. It might be pretty obvious that the LCD is damaged, but I wanted your opinions. If I am going to order parts and do the repair, I need to be certain of exactly which part or parts are needed.

Please have a look at the picture and tell me what you think. Should i buy an LCD replacement or something else?

Thanks for the link. They have the HP Mini 210 general, but none of the last 4 digits of the models match mine (2090NR). Not sure if that matters. The 210 "general", as i am calling it, is the correct size though.

I would start with the LCD and go from there, without actually surveying the insides you dont know for sure what you are getting yourself into, even then sometimes you cant tell something is wrong just by looking. Without some spare parts for testing its honestly just going to be a shot in the dark.

I take it you already verified the video cable was seated well? Sometimes it can cause this type of issue as well.

Actually I have not. I haven't opened the unit up to explore. So yes, I realize it is a shot in the dark. That's why I posted here. I want to get input on what the other possibilities might be. If the cable isn't secure, this type of irregularity can be seen?
