Bad KVM switch?

I got a free KVM switch at work and I think it might be bad. It was used. Sometimes when I switch between PCs whatever PC gains control will act like the mouse is going crazy and clicking everywhere, menus get opened and all sorts of crap. I also usually lose control of extra mouse buttons like back/forward on my Logitech MX500 mouse. I made sure the latest Logitech Mouseware drivers and software was installed on both PCs. Sometimes I can switch OK though, or the mouse returns to normal behavior after a moment.

So, bad switch or would all switches have problems like this with a MX500 mouse? Anyone using a MX500 mouse and a KVM switch?

Maybe I should try uninstalling all drivers and mouse software and just use default Microsoft plug and play drivers?

I don't want to spend $25 on a new one if it's just gonna do the same crap.

Thanks for any help...

Nah, it's Logitech's crappy drivers. I can't use Mouseware w/my Belkin KVM either. I use Microsoft's Intellipoint drivers for my Logitech and they work fine (though I don't own an MX500). If I load Mouseware and try to switch back and forth, the mouse does as you described. It jumps everywhere and clicks randomly. It's sad a company that makes some of the best mice has some of the worst drivers.

So uninstall Mouseware? Use Microsoft's Intellipoint Drivers too?

Guess I'll try this stuff, thanks man. Glad it isn't a bad switch since that means I don't have to spend cash to fix the problem.

EDIT: I do remember that Mouseware crap messing up commands bound to extra mouse buttons in most games.

Installed some Microsoft Intellipoint Explorer software/drivers. Still getting instability. Extra buttons/scrollwheel does weird stuff like refresh the page, switch windows, etc.

Can you tell me just what drivers you used, beatle?
