Bad inkjet printer text quality

I have a Lexmark X1150 printer/scanner and while I don't expect excellent print quality, I imagine it should be better than this.

I tried using the printer software to align the cartridges, but it didn't help. Advice?

It looks like you might have some ink built up. I believe the lexmarks have the printhead on the cartridge, so you can take a paper towel and wipe the catridge off with isopropyl alcohol.

After much use any printer will fill the wastetank--even Canons. See threads on cleaning the wastetank for Canons on the nifty stuff forums.

But rather than try nw cartridges in a fifty buck printer, I would recommend vageetasjn would be better off getting something like a Canon mp750. With carefull shopping you could get such a unit for not much more than you would spend for one set of replacement cartridges.
