Bad HDD?

I've got a Dell Inspiron 530 desktop running Vista Home Premium and Windows 7 w/ only a gb of RAM and a little over 200gb of memory.

As you can already assume, my system is a piece of shit but I make it work. Today I had 4 windows open (very tough for this girl) and she shut down out of no where. I'm assuming I have a bad hard drive but I'm not sure.

When I turn it on normally only the chassis fan tuns on and a few seconds later the CPU fan turns on. Now, both fans turn on immediately and my screen is black. What do. Please reply. Thanks.😕😀

Have you blown all the dust out of the machine (including out of the power supply)? Also, have you tried to remove and re-seat the memory modules?

You could also try to unplug the data cables to the various drives and try to start the system up without them to see if a malfunctioning drive could be blocking the boot process.

I did all of those things, still nothing. Also, the machine beeps when the RAM isnt in. I don't know what they mean but I do know they mean something. Probably means that there is no RAM but thats me. Any suggestions?

No need for advice, I figured out one of my ram stick is shot so I guess the work was a bit too much or samsung just makes shitty memory. Thanks for the help anyway.
