Bad hard drive.....I think...

My Scisoft Sandra score seemed a little low, so for the heck of it I disconnected them from the raid controller and hooked them individually to the onboard ide controller. One drive posted fine, the other said "Primary Master Fails". My questions are if it fails on the onboard controller why can the raid controller card see the drive, format it and erase it fine? Is it just saying this because something has changed on the drive because it is part of a raid array? If it was broken, I wouldn't be here right now.

Nevermind, replacing the raid array with 2 Seagate Baracuda IV 60gb 7200rpm drives. Will take my time RMAing the WD drive, only WD #3 to go bad in 2 months, what's best buy do in the stock room, punt the boxes for goals?

I got a 20GB WD that is about 18 months old now. It's still running strong without any problems. I have a 80GB WD also that I bought 2 months ago.
