Hi all-
Trying to put together a new computer with a gigabyte p35-ds3l. Here's the problem-
1)When I try to boot with the fan/heatsink attached I get no post beeps- the fans power on but nothing else- nothing on the screen
2) If I just set the fan/heatsink on top of the cpu without pushing those plastic pins through the board powers on and posts successfully
3) If I swap out the board with a cheap ECS board everything works

I'm assuming the fan/heatsink is bending/stressing the gigabyte board and causing the problem- anyone else see this before?

thanks for any help

As Serpent says - your build is causing grounding/standoff issues and the HS appears not to be sitting flush on the CPU. This is why I have a collection of Intel stock heatsinks as paperweights - i never use that stuff
