Bad DVI to VGA adapter?

PNY GF4 Ti 4400 is the video card. I just bought a cheapie 15" LCD for some dual monitor loving and finally got around to setting it all up tonight. I've tried the adapter on both monitors and both showed the same yellow tint on everything. Here is a picture to demonstrate what I mean:

I checked the adapter, there are no bent pins or anything. Did I just get a bad one? TIA.

ive seen a bad one before. they dont look any worse than a good one. just something wrong with it.
