Bad DVD-ROM?

Does anyone know why my DVD-ROM would be having trouble reading some DVDs? It looks like it doesn't want to read some dual-layered DVDs. Do I need a new DVD-ROM?

By the way, it's an old Creative Labs 2x DVD-ROM

There are drives that simply have problems with dual layer DVDs. The same thing holds true for some set top DVD players.
