I was driving up to an intersection during my commute to work, I had my turn signal on way in advance. I am making a right hand turn through a green light, so naturally I have the right of way to anyone trying to turn left from the other direction.

As I start making my turn, some dumbass is making a left turn from the other direction right into me. I lay on my horn and they freeze, nearly colliding with my car. The driver looks at me, and flicks me off. WTF lol? I made a crazy looking face and put up 2 middle fingers right back. Said driver was upset at my retort, and tailgaited me for the next 2 miles. I proceeded to randomly break to force the dumbass to slam on theirs. They finally turned.

Also, fat woman on a cell phone for anyone interested in the dumbass. Ethnicity withheld

She probably didn't even have a license.

I honestly wonder if eventually the population will have self-policing measures in place. What I mean is that each car comes equipped with a dashboard cam so you can report people doing stupid sh!t like this. If the population was allowed to self-police and report offenders the amount of people doing things like this would be reduced drastically.

You know, a similar thing happened to me yesterday.

I was crossing an intersection, and some dumb, fat, fucknugget decided that turning left in front of me was his best option. I sped up, hoping that he'd t-bone me. That door needs replaced anyway..lol.

he slams on his brakes and honks his horn at me...lol. I get out of the car, in the middle of the intersection, and ask him just exactly what the hell he was thinking. he put down his large soda from what appeared to be mcdonalds, reversed, and drove around me.

Drivers who don't know what right of way is are fucking annoying. And there's a lot of them.

Bad idea.

It's more effective if you get out of the car to scream at idiots.

*insert story about someone getting shot over road rage*

That's a ballsy move man. Could have been hurt.

Glad you're not.

The guy looked pretty harmless, just really obese and disgusting. He wasn't going to shoot me through his windshield, and i watched his hands the whole time, one was pre-occupied with his drink and the other was on the top of his steering wheel.

I usually get the opposite. I have a green arrow to turn left and assholes try to turn right on red in front of me. They are the reason we have a bunch of no turn on red signs. Morons.

I commute 80 miles a day, and I am well prepared if someone ever gets out of their car and approaches me. I have a knife, a can of pepper spray, and a 12 guage shotgun loaded with 00 buck in my car. You dont know who you are fucking with when you exit your vehicle to approach someone during a road rage incident. You should remain in your vehicle no matter who is at fault.

Where did I say I'd unload it on you? I was just trying to make a point that its not a good idea to get out of your car, you dont know the other person or what they have.

If someone started to break into my car or attack me in some way, thats when I'd use the shotgun.

I see this every day on my way to work. There are several intersections with "no turn on red" signs, and people always just ignore them. What's worse is that I'll be turning right, and I'll wait for the light to go green, observing the sign, then some jackass behind me starts honking his horn motioning for me to move.

At one of these intersections a guy almost hit a pedestrian and the pedestrian yelled at him, the guy peeled off. Then the pedestrian pointed up at the sign and started yelling out "SEE - NO... TURN...ON... RED!" I was laughing my ass off.

Why? After a year of commuting 80+ a day, I have seen people go nuts in their cars. I'd like to be prepared in the off-chance that someone tries something stupid.

Plus I shoot trap and skeet every wednesday after work, so it serves other purposes than just car-defense.

Just listen to me for a second before you jump to conclusions.

I never said you attacked him. I mentioned it because its a bad idea to even get out of your car. YOU are escalating a situation instead of diffusing it. You do not know the other person, nor do you know the contents of their vehicle. What if the other person is not mentally stable and they also have a gun? Whose to say they have the restraint not to use it if they are already pissed off and then you escalate the situation?

If you knew the other driver had a firearm in his vehicle, would you still have gotten out of your car? I'd bet not.

How many lanes were in the road where you both were turning?

If one, then you are right.

If two or more, then she had right of way into the left most lane and you had right of way into the right most.

sounds like you're the dumbass with road rage issues. braking hard, really? why not just forget it and keep driving?

the one thing people should always remember is that its not personal if someone cuts you off or passes you by or whatever. they're just like you trying to get somewhere too.

LOL @ Nick

Dude, it probably depends on where you live and what part of the city you are in also. Maybe in Chicago you have this problem and in NY and LA too. But some cities aren't full of violent assholes. You know?

Heh, I saw SandEagle replied to my thread and wondered "I wonder how he will spin this into making it my fault..."

No, I'm not the dumbass, dumbass. I never said I breaked "hard", I said I randomly breaked. IE: when someone is tailing you so bad that you cant even see their headlights anymore, its not uncommon to lightly tap your brakes just enough so your lights come one, causing them to slam on theirs. I do this to all extreme tailgaters. Its not safe when someone is riding your ass like that.

the one thing people should always remember is that its not personal if someone cuts you off or passes you by or whatever. they're just like you trying to get somewhere too.

It becomes personal when they flick you off. It would have been one thing if the lady had done nothing and silently admitted her mistake. She reacted like a child about it. Shes the dumbass

Avoiding the fight > *

I've seen plenty of people go nutso on the road too, but I've never been able not to avoid the confrontation. Why avoid it? Because I can imagine no scenario within which that sort of confrontation would end in a positive way.

I'd love to hear any scenario you can think up that DOESN'T either end in you in the back of a cop car, OR depend absolutely in the other person being scared off by your gun (as opposed to deciding he should get his gun, too). Even if you do scare someone off with the gun, you might end up in jail for it.
