Bad cpu/memory

Ok I swapped my motherboard to a new case. Everything seemed to work but got no video. I then bought a new board. The abit at7. All of my other components have been tested to work so it has to be down to the cpu or memory. Any easy way to test it? Nobody near me has an xp/ddr combo. I have tried different power supplies, video card and connecting one thing at a time. I have 2 sticks of samsung pc2700 which I have tried one at a time in differnet spots. So any sugestions?

Have you completely comfigured your CPU correctly?
If it is an AMD CPU, I have found that sometimes they will not do anything if they are not set up right.

The next thing would be to check whether your graphics card is in correctly. If the computer turns on and does a few abnormal beeps, that's your problem. If it turns on and the hard drive sounds like it could be loading windows or something like that, it may just be that your graphics card is unsupported by the mainboard (although I have NEVER had any problems with compatibility with Abit mainboards!).
My GeForce4 MX440 does not work in the Gigabyte GA6VXE7+. The computer boots up normally into windows, just with no video!

Another thing that could be causing a trouble is any other cards in the computer. There may be a conflict with another card. If you have a SoundBlaster Live card, it may be that as they have been known to give troubles in AMD systems. Try taking out everything but the bare essentials (Graphics card, HDD, Memory etc.).

The last thing I could possibly think of is that the mainboard may not like that particular type of memory. You should try another brand if possible or test your brand on another working computer. It is very unlikely that your CPU will have a fault, unless it is just not plugged in correctly (Take the CPU out and check that there are no bent pins!. If there are, they could have shorted and fried the CPU :-(

I hope this is any help!
