Bad cops. *Caught on tape*

Bad cops caught on tape

A lot of times, cops will do this sort of things even if you haven't commit any crimes. I remember my last incident with a couple of cops. They pulled my brother and I over. We were taking our dates home. My brother made a left turn on a green light because he didn't notice the red arrow pointing left in the center of the street. Instead of just giving us a ticket and moving on, they attempted to accuse us of throwing beer bottles out of our car.

Cop: Why did you throw this bottle out here. /*shines flashlight at a broken bottle on the ground */
Me: We didn't throw that out there.
Cop: Step out of the car please.

So I sat out there for 15mins looking like a criminal in front of every car that passed by while they interrogated me. Sucked. They finally determined that we had not been drinking. Then issued the ticket and left.

There are bad apples in every profession.

And of course you are going to find news stories on the bad things those bad apples do. You rarely see news stories on the GOOD things cops do day in, day out.

Its like cock roaches, if you see one, then there's a thousand more around.
Tell that to the cops who died protecting you, troll.

For every bad cop there are hundreds getting low pay and risking their lives to defend people like you who then spit on them.

So far, none have died protecting me. Lots have spit on me though (not physically, but mentally).

Yeah it sucks that the few bad ones give em such a bad name. It's gotten to the point that people just assume every cop is a dipsh!t on a power trip (I'm guilty of it myself sometimes).

So does this statement apply to black people as well? I mean, I saw on the news a black man that was arrested for murder. So does that mean the majority of black people are murdering thugs?

Asshole.

What are you to do when every cop you've encountered thus far have been suspicous of you even though you've done nothing wrong? Every cop was trained to "control the situation" (Translation, treat you like dirt so you'll do as they say) or is this a misconception?

Maybe you need to reexamine whether you were courteous and openly cooperative in your confrontations with them. I've been pulled over 4 times for speeding but have only been ticketed once (and the one time, he knocked it down to only 10 over from 20) but then I am always cooperative and polite. I know other people who act like jerkoffs to cops and then wonder why they always seem to be treated like crap by them.

Nice to see your ignorance shine through. Congrats and making yourself look stupid.

I've got friends who've been pulled over before and given warnings too. They were mostly, young pretty girls. The rest of us, it doesn't matter how nice you are. You know, I try to smile, I don't ask any questions, I don't even argue with them. It does no good. Just shut up and take the ticket. I just hate it when they have to come up with some stupid line like: Why did you throw this bottle out here. Fishing to get me to say something incriminating. There's no reason for that.

I think cops have a tough job, because it is dangerous and they have a reputation. I also believe that cops have too much power. They can basically pull you over anytime they want and charge you with hundreds of ticky tack things or just make something up. There just isn't enough checks and balances to the police force. I believe that investigating police should have more power but that the general CHP and patrol force should have much less power.

Cops sometimes need that power, but I can see what you are saying. If you really want to take away some police power, get some of those stupid a$$ laws out of the books, because thats where they get the power to pull you over for whatever reason

THere's no doubt that there's a lot of good cops around. The problem is that they will believe the bad cops over you anyday of the week.

I've always wondered what real good the patrol cops do... After all, all they do is cruise around in their cars with the windows rolled up...

I've had some good friends who were cops (and even dated the daughter of one), and they all agreed that cops spend too much time in their cars.

Of course, the ones who think that way are the ones who are promoted. 😉

wow that's great. Maybe if I suck their dicks I won't get harrassed!
[/sarcasm]

seriously though, if police have nothing better to do in lard alabama, maybe they shouldn't have jobs there. There are plenty of places with real criminals to catch... why harrass all the youngin's in suburbia?

news flash, speeding is breaking the law.

Also, if you want to tell the cops where all these "real criminals" are, then I am sure they will leave you alone. Besides, the cops in your town do more than you think...most "quiet" towns have more going on then the average citizen thinks.

not to start another rant about the denigration of the rule of law via selective enforcement, suffice it to say I have plenty of respect for the majority of cops, it's just the revenue boys on traffic duty that piss me off

1 recorded incident of bad police work that day.
498,345 recorded incidents of good police work that day.

I won't bother explaining the difference between being polite and being a suckup since judging from this post, you're probably too stupid to comprehend it.
