Bad Cop, No Donut

we have a warrant for your arrest, get off the tractor

thats all that needed to be said.

why do people not listen to cops?

Two things:

1. The suspect was dealing with two polite officers who identified themselves as fellow vets. Neither of the cops said or did anything confrontational as far I could tell. Multiple instructions were ignored, then he shoves and swears at the officers.

2. The suspect somehow decided following LEO instructions was negotiable, and "We have a warrant" is not an invitation for debate. Compliance is not optional folks. Insist on remaining in a vehicle that could be used to flee or harm LEOS and you're about to have a bad day.

If this guy hadn't been so belligerent he'd still be alive. All he had to do was act like an adult, work out the issue, and get on with his day.

Evidently he has a history of PTSD, likely stemming from his service in the US military which probably had a lot to do with his actions.

Regardless, not getting off of a tractor shouldn't get you dead. He wasn't being combative, he wasn't trying to flee and how exactly does a choke hold help you get someone off of a tractor?

Even worse is they didn't even try to see if he was ok. They might have been able to save his life but instead they didn't even roll him over to check on his condition. They just carried him over to the SUV and threw him in the back. Then 2 or 3 officers just stood there and watched him not moving and still didn't bother to check on his condition. "Hey guys, he has been talking the entire time and he hasn't said anything in a while, someone want to see if he is breathing?"...

I guarantee that his family wins a very large settlement.

Spitting on an officer @ 1:15 isn't combative? Denying orders from an officer with a warrant isn't combative? News to me...

The entire time - even while being choked he is being combative by refusing to follow the orders.

He was literally sitting down...

No he wasn't following orders but that doesn't make him combative. Sitting down and refusing to follow orders should not get you dead. If you can't grasp that then we are never going to agree. If you believe it does warrant getting you dead then why put the officers through all of that physical exertion and potential for injury, why not just shoot him and be done with it?

And again, they didn't even care about him being injured. There is a very real possibility that they could have resuscitated him if they would have given half a shit and checked on him. Instead they gathered around and literally watched him die.

Edit: Also, how the hell do you try to get him off of a tractor like that head first? If they would have gotten his feet it would have been much easier, it's not like they didn't have at least 4 officers on the scene with more on the way.

Not to the point where his death is warranted, no.

Since when has "refusing to follow the orders" been a valid reason to cause someone's death?
