So one of the pin on the dimm 1 slot isn't showing up.... and when i put in my memory it doesn't read it (because there's no contact on that pin). I tried to pull it out but it's not wokring. What should I do?

btw the mobo is a dfi nf4 ultra-d

HOW exactly do you know that it's not making contact with one pin? This is not something you would be able to easily see or test.

Let me just assume that you've got what appears to be a bad Dimm socket. I will assume you've tried the memory stick in another socket and it works, and that you've tried another memory stick in the suspected bad socket and it doesn't work?

Not much you can do if the socket itself if physically damaged. Take a good look at it with bright light and a magnifier - MAYBE if you're lucky you just have a spec of something lodged in there blocking contact to some of the pins. Try blowing it out with some canned air.

Sometimes - especially in humid environments - you get a thin patina of corrosion on the contacts (either on the socket pins, on the memory stick edge contacts or both). Take a CLEAN NEW pencil eraser and LIGHTLY rub the edge contacts on the memory stick to clean them. Take some contact cleaner (you can buy it at Radio Shack, auto parts store or electical supply) or WD40 (contact cleaner would be better but WD will work if necessary) and spray the length of the socket (you can soak it if you use contact cleaner because it evaporates - if using WD40 use it VERY lightly since it leaves behind an oily puddle).

Insert the memory stick and pray.

If that doesn't work and you're sure it's the socket, you need to send the mobo in for RMA replacement. You can ask for an Advanced RMA - they send you a replacement FIRST and then you send back the old one in the same box.

Hope this helps...
