Just played BC2 after a LONG time (didn't play it for a couple of years) and man, it's still such a fun game! Especially on the Uber Rig!

Here's a video I just did of BC2 (Cold War SQDM):

Link: http://youtu.be/zKDz3sAm6_c

4x EVGA GTX-Titan SC @ 1176Mhz (+300 Mem), i7 3970X @ 4.8Ghz and of course, 3x Dell U3011 @ 5160x2560 (13.2MP)

All settings are maxed out including 32xCSAA!

More coming soon!

Yea, no thanks on the 3x screen setup. I'd much rather have a newer higher res 30-40" screen.

Bad Company 2 is a lot more fun than BF3. The map design simply isn't as good. :colbert:

Comes down to preference. I focus on the future, I always like new stuff, unless its overall quality's worse. Map design isn't the only thing in a game, for me at least.

I hope you guys are joking. Each of those is already a high-quality 30" IPS panel. And if he rotated it to L-L-L instead of P-P-P he could gain an advantage by seeing more of the world than most other people could see--greater field of view.

People gaming on a single monitor denigrating those playing on triple-monitor should spray paint their cars' side windows black since they enjoy their tunnel vision so much. ;)

Nice rig, looking at those bezels must need getting used to, it's like playing inside a jail cell.
I guess as you play longer your eyes slowly eliminate those bezels.

Considered adding another catleap to my setup but alas my 7970 crossfire is not fast enough to run two of those monitors .

I would love to have a set up like yours, set everything to Max and not worry about low fps.

I loved playing bc2, but haven't done so in many months. I still believe its ultimately a better game than bf3. Better destruction, better maps, better visibility, and things just felt a bit better. Really loved the ability to put red dot sights on sniper rifles and go about things that way with some accuracy, sadly killed that in bf3.

And this may just be me, but client side hit detection seemed better. In bf3 nearly always by the time I realize bullets are coming my way, I'm dead. Meanwhile to kill someone it takes several bullets.

I still play bf3 regularly, but miss bc2 sometimes.

If I see a sale for BC2 I think I will definitely pick it up for PC. I played it on PS3 for 2 years and rocked at it, but I'd love to play it with a keyboard and mouse.

I cant go back to BC2's lack of straferunning. That was the biggest annoyance for all the pre-BF3 battlefield games for me. I dont know why it took them so long to fix something that should be a prerequisite for any FPS.

I think the only thing that would bother me at this point would be lack of prone.

Hmmm, the loss of strafe running or having a tracer dart that can tag people for rockets to lock on to.... :)

I love doing that to snipers.

Yeah, the franchise has been raked over the coals. For me, it peaked somewhere near the end of BF2. Once they completely nerfed the blackhawk and then released 2142, it was over.

I can't believe that everyone loves BC2 and BF3 so much. These threads make me feel like an old man talking about how much better these older games obviously are.

Nah. I find a ton of people who like BC2 dislike BF3. I loved the HELL out of BF2 and I like BC2, but hate the goddamn hell out of BF3. The thing about BC2, it was always supposed to be different from the mainline battlefeld series, like Battlefield modern combat or such.

It did what it did VERY well, it had great frostbite implementation and the maps were designed around them very nicely. It had smaller maps, and fewer classes, but it limited the proliferation of scopes to EVERYONE which made it a ton more fun. It also had an extremely unique feel. There is no game that has the feel BC2 did.

BF3 just feels like playing modern warfare all over again. And the frostbite implementation just makes me angry. I had a situation where I was tracking a guy with a tank, shot at the wall he was hiding behind, blew it up and damaged him. Tracked his little orange triangle (God I hate that damn orange triangle) behind another wall, shot it, and... bam, it was one of the random indestructible walls that is impervious to tank shells next to a destructible wall.

What the hell is that. Either design the map to take full advantage of terrain and make it work consistantly, or don't use it at all. You can't just take BF2 maps and inconsistently add destruction to it. The map design doesn't work with that shit.

Bf2 was the highlight of the series though. BF2142 I had a ton of fun with too. The Pilium may be one of my favorte weapons ever in a game.An anti tank sniper is too good to pass up.

I think BF3 disappoints me because it *could* have been really great. Unfortunately they just made some really poor decisions (in my opinion). I hate the UI, the maps are too small, I don't like the auto-repair, I don't like the unlock system, and the aircraft aren't as fun.

Ah, well.
