Bad Company 2 ... glitchy/choppy/stutters

My PC :

SSD - 120GB OCZ SOLID2
Windows 7 Pro 64bit
EVGA 260GTX 216
E8400
4GB DDR2

I have tried almost every setting ranging from high, to low, and resolutions...bloom on/off, etc.

When I run around, the game kind of glitches/stutters every 2 seconds..by stutter, it's like there is a .2 second delay, it's horribly not smooth...anyone run into this? I've got nVidia drivers : 1711.9621

Not sure if this is helpful, but I did see both cores at 80%-95% during gameplay.

I am running a Q9650 on this game with the older 195.62 Nvidia drivers, and the game runs smoothly. Food for thought..this game may not require this much horsepower..but it sure likes it.

Woops, I forgot when I tweaked windows 7, I locked it to 2 cores...I fixed it, rebooted, now it's running at 4 cores and it's running a LOT better. It's as smooth as a video now...it's 400% better, no glicthes/stuttering at all now.

I'd be interested to see if you still get the stutters with the E8400 running at 3.6Ghz+. Does the game really need a quad to run adequately or will a high end dual core work?
