but with food poisoning, you've got something a little worse than nausea and will be real sick for a day.

are you going to go out and buy some medicine right now?

best thing to do would be to drink something like gingerale, or just get some sleep. (lying still will help stop the pukes as compared to being up and around)

If you can, I'd have a friend bring over a few bottles of Gatorade or something, and some kind of soup that you'll eventually feel like you can eat but won't be able to keep down either.
If it's food poisoning, anyway.

Rectal Promethazine is the best, but I think you still need a prescription for that. Emetrol is decent OTC stuff. Canabis is actually a very effective antiemetic, though the smoked form is much more potent than something like Marinol.

This happened to me once when I had wings for dinner. I ended up puking every 30 min for 12 hours straight

Worst food poisoning ever. Your body is reacting naturally to help itself. You don't want to stop your body from doing what it needs to do in this case with drugs. I recommend just hanging in there.

and is the only drug i've ever taken that has made me extremely sleepy... but yeah, for nausea it does the trick

Food poisoning sucks. If you get a fever over 101 for more than 24 hours, you should go see a doctor to make sure you don't have botulism or salmonella. Keep drinking ice water and clear foods/liquids (stay away from dyed foods- when mixed with stomach fluids they dye stains the sink/toilet ). Jello, broth, and crackers are easy to keep down.

You're going to be sick for about 3 days...have fun
