yep..

sandra benches:

micron memory: 483/503

ibm 75gxp 30gig
harddrive: partition 1 (16000+)??!!!
partition 2 (12000+)??!!!

what kind of BS is this??

those HB benches are not anywhere near 24000 (normal for ata100/7200 drives)

I remember using, vaguely now, a IDE busmaster driver, and the improvement jumpped to 20000+ - but still not on target.

im even afraid to try benching my tnt vid card.

so much for high performing products from msi and via!

dangit.. now i got start tweaking around this mobo, cause its underperforming.. so BS..

Then again who says Sandra HDD scores are trustworthy?

This is what you should do, go into the BIOS and set all the PIOs to "Mode4", then try benching again.

If you want better memory scores, download and install the 4 way interleave enabler.

well, unless you can recommend me another prog for benching, I'm happy to hear it! :)

i'll look inotthe PIO options.

i have that prog. it makes no difference because its already set for 4-way interleave in Bios. I can't tweak the memory anymore than that.

I would recommend using Winbench or HDTach, almost anything is more reliable than Sandra.

so u saying the memory settings (i know about the clock multipliers) are available in BIOS?

edit:
duron 600/ msi pro2a
fsb 109 x 8 = 876 mhz
Equals crappy mem scores for me :(

Well they are on my A7V133 and on most other socket a mobo's like the KT7a, iWILL kk266 and most others. Im pretty sure you pro2a should have a dram frequency option in witch you can run you cpu at fsb+pci or 100+33 or something similar.

It is in the MSI BIOS, under the advanced menu. I think you probably set it to SPD and not CAS2. Set the CAS settings to manual, and select "2" for CAS. Make sure you install that 4 way interleave enabler to get most memory performance out of it. You can check in "Motherboard information" in Sandra to see your CAS setting and bank interleave status.
