I leave computer on for the day and when I return from work my clock in bottem right hand corner has lost an hour or so and system acts as if not enough memory to run anything. I simple reboot clears up problems. I thought it might be due to a "memory leak" on Win98se and I installed "fix" from Microsoft but that did not clear problem.
My next thought was battery going bad on mobo ( just a thought ) . Any suggestions?

The CMOS battery wouldn't affect the fact that the "system acts as if not enough memory to run anything". Win9x is notorious for keeping bad time, and this is a well-known MS bug, but a whole hour each day is quite excessive. Replacing the CMOS battery might fix this. As far as your memory leak, do you have a spare stick of RAM to see if this fixes the problem?

There's apps you can download to free up memory, too -> FreeMem is one of them.
