Bad battery? Computer won't save changes to BIOS

Could I just need to replace the onboard battery (CR2032)? The computer will boot if I jumper the BIOS to reset it, but if I enter and change anything, even the date/time, it refuses to boot afterwards. I also get a "bad checksum" error when it starts up.

My power supply is a brand-new Antec True550, so I don't think it's that. Processor should be fine. Any suggestions?

Nope (I wish it was that simple though)

Typically those batteries RARELY go bad. Though, it could very well be the case... and probably would be the BEST thing that could be wrong with it, no? Maybe you just need a BIOS flash?

Just tried to flash with latest BIOS. Update goes ok, but I still get the checksum error. Any ideas on what would cause this?

Fixed it... for now. I had to force the CPU settings, not sure why auto-detect wasn't working. Least it's up and running now!
