Bad Accident last week on highway

Last week there was a bad accident outside the city where I live. It happened in a river valley when the fog was really bad. A hopper truck was crawling due to the pea soup fog and got rear-ended by another truck going approx 100km/h. A few seconds later, that semi was rear ended by a Greyhound bus.

Incredibly, nobody was killed but both the driver of the middle truck and the Greyhound are still in critical condition. The bus was an overflow bus that only had around 10 passengers on it. The main bus the was only 2 minutes ahead of it was filled to the brim. A couple passengers of the Greyhound had their legs/feet amputated by the collison.

The accident would have been far, far worse but a person that saw it happen took it upon himself to drive in the wrong side of the road with lights flashing and horn honking to warn oncomming traffic. There was another couple of trucks that would have surely collided with the wreck if it wasn't for him.

No. He was really badly injured, but made it. I think he is still in critical condition, but it's been over a week now so I hope the worst is over for him.

Doesn't look that bad but look at the front of the bus...it got totally owned. I'm surprised the bus driver didn't die.

WTH do people drive like idiots in the fog??

wow, that looks pretty bad. What was pretty wild was that 50 car crash in california a year or two ago, another Fog related accident. I dont think anyone died, but Accident Teams were busy for awhile and the Accident Investigation teams had a year or so of work ahead of them 😛

i like the "i've seen better" (which i'm sure you mean "worse") replies. Cause you know... the op just said bad accident not omfgbbq the worst ever. but whatever floats troll's boats i guess.
