I found a recipe for this dish here:
http://chefmichaelsmith.com/recipe/potato-bacon-cheddar-tart/
Looks really delicious, but it also sounds like you will be asking for an heart attack if eaten often. Has anyone had this before? I had meat pies when I was a kid, that my mother used to fix, but nothing like this.

I do have a cast iron skillet i haven't ever used, will that work for this type of pie?

Yep had that when I was a kid, my mother made it quite often. One of the things I miss living in Sweden is proper meat and potatoe pies, my wife makes me one for my birthday and thats about all.
Whenever we visit the UK the first meal I have when driving from the airport to my home town is pie and chips at one of the service stations.

Potatoes are high in vitamin C if you eat them raw with the skin on. As soon as you peel or cook them, the amount of vitamin C plunges.

They still retain plenty of Vitamin C depending on cooking method, and yes I do leave the skin on.

I'm going to try this in my cast iron skillet. I think I'll add an onion to the dish.

If

If I'm not mistaken, that is from Canada and uses what ever meat is locally available including game.
Yes, from Quebec. Most people know I am from London, Ontario, Canada.

It is traditionally pork but sometimes other meat is used.

I'm thinking that the next time I go to the store I'll get some bacon and make this pie. But with all of that bacon, this does sound rather rich...
