Backup solutions for Lotus Notes on W2K Server?

Hi guys,

My company is hosting our web & mail server on Lotus Notes running on W2K Server. I'm assigned to look for a good backup solutions for the DB. Can you guys give me some suggestion? I want to know all possible solutions out there, from cheapest to most expensive and biggest bang for the buck.

We have an 18.1 GB Ext. SCSI Hard drive but we don't have the SCSI Adapter yet. Should we use the Ext. HD or we should just get a Tape Drive? Or maybe using a burner?
We prefer to have it backed up without stopping the DB services (Hot backup?). Some software that I found that seems capable of doing that are:
- Computer Associates ARCServe
- Veritas Net Backup Data Center
- any other?
But I understand that this might be very expensive.

Anyway hope you guys can give me some suggestions or lead me to some other links. Thanks!

Dantz Retrospect Desktop Backup can do this for about $150.00. (datasheet)

"...Back up to tapes, removable cartridges (including SuperDisk (LS-120), Zip, and Jaz), hard disks, DVD-RAM, compatible CD-R/RW, MO, or a file server...Fully supports almost every tape drive and a wide range of CD-R/RW drives with built-in custom drivers..."

With this software - you can backup to any device. I would probably start with the hard drive, which you already own. If you want to add an off-line backup, or CD-R backup in the future - this software will handle it.
