What are you mainly backing up?

For basic file backup, there are numerous free backup programs that can sync folders to the external drive. Syncback and Synctoy are both simple yet effective, and are free. You may also be able to download backup software from the WD website. Personally, I use Syncback profiles to keep important data mirrored to an external HD.

TrueImage can also be used to backup specific folders, but the majority use it for image backup of entire partitions.
