Backup on Mac and PC

My dad wants a backup solution that can backup both his mac (powerbook Ti) and his HP laptop at the same time with a touch of a button.

If not possible, most cost efective and ease of use options otherwise

Ha, ha...that's a good one.

Tell your dad to collect everything he wants to back up on one machine and burn the disk. And if he thinks he as problems I have to juggle files between three computers (see my rigs below).

You can get a Firewire external hard drive and just copy and paste from all his computers. This is assuming you only want to backup the data files, which is all I care about. I don't mind reinstalling everything.
