When I login to the network at school and telnet to our main server my backspace key actually moves back and erases the letter behind it! From home I have to do 2 SSH's to get to this server and my back space key does not work. instead it prints ^? instead. Anyone know how to fix this??? None of the Unix Lab helpers are in at this time.

nope... isn't ^H the backspace key???

I just checked the file .mylogin and it has the line:

stty erase ^H

You think that would allow it to work...

^H is stands for ctrl + H which is used if your backspace key does not function or your keyboard does not have a backspace key.

I have been wondering about this and just too lazy to look it up, but that just gives me ^H^H for backspace and ^?^? for delete. *Shrugs*
