backplate for mobo...

Ok..this is the situation. I just installed a AMD64 3400+ into a MSI K8T800 NEO-FIS2R and that backplate that goes behind the processor on the bottom side of the motherboard is slightly touching the mobo tray. The standoffs are in and the mobo itself isn't touching, its just that metal 5inx4in backplate. I am curious to know if that small plate touching will cause a short. All my other builds I can't remember it touching at all, so I am very hesitant. I'd appreciate any help. Thanks!

Perhaps he has a poorly designed case and the area for the back plate is recessed slightly too far into the case? Did the plate correctly "snapin"?

As long as the plate doesn't touch any of the traces on the motherboard it should be fine.

Btw, how do you have a 5"x4" mother board plate? Usually it's more like 5"x2"... 😕
