Backplate for HSF w/MB Tray...

About to order new E8400 to upgrade from current E6600 on Asus P5B and Lian Li A-16 case which has a MB tray. The new HSF is a Xigmatek S1283 with a backplate.

Not having done this before, does the backside of the MB fit so flush with the MB tray, that when I attach the backplate/HSF on the cpu, the MB tray will no longer be able to attach to the MB because of the backplate? And then meaning I'll have to cut a hole in the MB tray to accomodate the added space the backplate takes up? ...I hope not.
 
I have yet to see a back plate that wouldn't fit between mobo and tray.
I cut the tray anyway for ease of removal.
