Going backpacking this weekend and just want to get some ideas.

I have a Jetboil but I'd prefer not to actually cook in it because I don't like cleanup. I'd like to instead just boil water in it and then pour the boiling water into a plastic ziploc bag that has a bunch of lightweight dehydrated stuff like couscous, canned chicken (sans the can), etc.

9 packs Cup-O-Noodles.

Edit: More seriously, I hear Mountain House is pretty good, though I don't know if you can boil it in the bag or if you gotta use a pot. MREs have 1200 calories each (all the food, not just the entrees) and the entrees come in sealed metallized-plastic pouches you can boil, so that wouldn't be messy, and you can usually get them at surplus stores.

Mountain House you can boil in the bag, foods ok for dehydrated. This info in 10 years old though, I'm now old, fat, and a daddy, so no more wandering the mountains for me. :(
