Kind of a random hot deal, but as there aren't a whole lot of backpack vacuums out there...
http://www.powr-flite.com/product/bp4s-pro-lite-backpack-vacuum.do
$12 flat-rate shipping, plus $10 off, using coupon code POWJ1612-16 (so basically $2 shipping...lol).
Brochure (PDF)
Manual (PDF)
My buddy uses this for his professional cleaning service & it's wicked awesome. It's a lot easier to manage than a conventional vacuum because all of the weight is on your back (all ten pounds of it), so rather than lugging around a heavy vacuum, you simply use a flexy-hose with a bent wand & an attachment for hard floors, carpet, or corners. A LOT more convenient, especially if you have stairs or high ceilings.
They do have a battery-operated version so you can skip the cord, but they tack on an extra $800 for that feature, so the whole "wireless" setup runs you $999. Which is about the price of a high-end Roomba, haha. But $199 for the corded version is more in the realm of normal vacuum pricing (or half the cost of a Dyson, yay!). Specs:
* Weighs 10 pounds
* 40-foot cord
* 62dBA (well, it is a vacuum)
* 4-stage filtration system (2 bags, 2 filters)
Includes a full toolkit:
1. 14" carpet
2. 14" hard floor (wood, tile, linoleum, etc.)
3. 17" crevice (corners & stuff for spiderwebs & whatnot)
Those connect to the stretch hose (2-6'), swivel cuff, and 1/2" double-bend wand (so a flexy tube, a hard tube, and a swivel joint). Part numbers for the filtration system are as follows:
1. Paper filter bag (X1486) 10-pack is $8.80
2. Micro filter cloth bag (X1487)
3. Pre-motor filter & exhaust filter (X1488)
Maintenance is pretty easy. Replace the paper bag when 50% full. The micro cloth bag is washable (wash every 6 months, use cold water, don't use detergent, and line dry it). Replace filters twice a year if you use the vacuum on a regular basis.
